Illinois Sales Tax Holiday August 6-15, 2010, Other States Have It Too!

If you live in Illinois starting August 6, 2010 you can get a holiday on sales tax for back to school shopping. I don't know about you, but I can hardly wait for the peace and quiet to return to the house. The holiday is only for 10 days, so be sure to head out that week to do some back to school shopping.

Here in Illinois you will get a break on the purchase of clothes, shoes, and school supplies up to $100 a item. To learn more visit the Illinois Dept. of Revenue here. There is still a sales tax collected though it is much, much, much less than normal.

Here is a list of other States offering a sales tax holiday, too:
Alabama
Connecticut
Florida
Iowa
Louisiana
Maryland
Mississippi
Missouri
New Mexico
North Carolina
Oklahoma
South Carolina
Tennessee
Texas
Virginia
