The Autism Treatment Acceleration Act

If you have a child with autism or know someone with one, I highly recommend The Age of Autism as a must read. I try to read it everyday, but with the holidays I did not check it everyday and low and behold an important development is occurring.

A federal bill is in the works called "The Autism Treatment Acceleration Act". This act will work to establish a Medical Home Model (MHM). Basically there would be approved network providers, who work together to coordinate medical services. This would take the work of coordinating your child's therapies and doctor visits off of you and a primary care coordinator would do it. Okay that sounds great, but as I read on the article reveals that the this idea has come from a collaborative of pharma, medical groups, insurances companies, etc.
