What a night, both my boys are "off". My oldest has been reacting to Benadryl, dye-free that is. I noticed on Tuesday he just went crazy, hateful, mean, and violent. He has allergies to cow's milk, eggs, and of course seasonal allergies. He has had itchy red eyes for days and small itchy bumps on his forehead, armpits, etc. The Benadryl has helped with the itchy eyes and skin, it is the bad behaviors that come out usually later in the day from when he last received a dose. Wow, he screamed and carried on for over an hour! I decided to try a punishment technique I heard about on Relevant Radio's,On Call with Dr. Ray & Friends. Dr. Ray has many great ideas for parenting. I made him sit down and write out 10x "I will not punch my sister", after 30+ minutes he did it. I was video taping him during his outburst about writing the sentences, for my records of course.
My younger son, is growing. When some ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)kids grow they have odd behaviors. Mine starts seeking out sensory input, tonight he just spun himself in circles to his "preschool" tunes (thank goodness I don't mine the Wiggles)!
I sure hope tomorrow is a better day!
